We are delighted to invite you to our Seedy Saturday on Saturday 5th March at the South London Botanical Institute, from 2-5pm.
Come along to learn about seed saving, stock up on locally-saved non-hybrid seeds, and get inspired for the season ahead. There will be talks on ‘Why Save Seeds?’ and ‘Top Tips for Successful Seed Saving’ as well as a presentation by LFSB member, Charlotte Dove, about community seed saving practices in America and Canada, following a recent trip.
We invite everyone who has seeds that tell an interesting story, whether they were given to you by your Gran, or saved from your favourite plant, to bring your seeds and stories to share. We will be hosting a Seed Storytelling Session and we’d like everyone to be involved!
We’re happy to be collaborating with the South London Botanical Institute. Their historic herbarium and botanical library will be open for you to see. They also have a selection of seeds from their botanical garden, which will be on sale at a very modest price.
Donations on the door.
Venue details: South London Botanical Institute, 323 Norwood Rd, London SE24 9AQ. Catch the train from London Bridge to Tulse Hill and then it’s a 5 minute walk from the station.
